After achieving remarkable success as the owner of a thriving mortgage company, Marvon Williams ventured into the realm of insurance, joining forces with a Fortune 300 insurance company. Over a span of 13 years, under this prestigious national brand, Marvon skillfully cultivated his scratch agency into a multi-million-dollar enterprise. His achievements were duly recognized with a plethora of accolades in personal lines sales, commercial lines sales, life sales, and customer service.
Drawing from his extensive entrepreneurial experience, Marvon partnered with equally adept business owner Bobby Van Buren to establish The Insurance Gurus. Together, they envisioned a comprehensive solution in the form of The Insurance Gurus, LLC., a full-service independent insurance brokerage. This venture aimed to directly cater to clients across the United States, providing expert advice and unparalleled coverage.
Moreover, Marvon’s commitment to community service is evident through his past roles as the Past President of the Acworth Business Association, former board member of the Northwest YMCA, former board member of the Kennesaw Business Association, and his current position as the Vice-Chair of the Acworth Downtown Development Authority. Additionally, he serves on The Acworth Arts Alliance and The Acworth Police Community Foundation boards, further demonstrating his dedication to enhancing community welfare. Anchored in Acworth, Georgia, their office serves as the hub for delivering exceptional service to clients nationwide.

After 15 years in the Information Technology Consulting Sales industry, Bobby Van Buren brought his sales and leadership skills to the insurance industry. Taking on the challenge of starting an agency from scratch in a marketplace that was new to the company he represented, he succeeded and grew his business from a multi-million dollar agency to one of the best in the state. Along the way, he accumulated multiple individual and agency sales and leadership awards.
Ten years later he brought that leadership and experience to IG when he partnered with another successful formerly captive agent, Marvon Williams to form The Insurance Gurus LLC, a full-service independent insurance agency focusing on educating and helping their customers find the right coverage to meet their needs at a good premium.
